Same old. Sharon's pool. Maren made cute thing for her first playdate with Joy tomorrow (flower on a popsickle stick, a button and a ribbon. Swimming at Sharon's, Walmart, dinner, Feliz Perez's priesthood preview, (should not have made dinner--they had pizza), home, Olympics if they brush teeth, jammies and underwear, say prayer, bathroom and get water prn. They did it, so we watched 10 min of olympics and off with them. They are all so tired and school starts in a week. Me too. It's 10:30 and Paul is already getting ready for bed and i'm soon to follow. Haven't read my scripts yet this week and I have to prepare sharing time and give a talk on sunday and go to branch council in the morning. :/. Buenas. Need to find Karien Croezen--she's not on facebook.

9 days and counting
We are finishing out the last days of summer. Olivia reads ALL DAY LONG! Not kidding. She read the Olympic heros series and then read the Percy Jackson series and she is rereading the Olympians because now she'll understand it better. I had her teach me 2 olympic gods this morning and we'll continue this (she asked if I want the short version in the back of her book or rick roaring (??? the authors) website that is more complete. Who is this kid?
Maren ALWAYS whines every time we read, so I just told her she doesn't have to do it anymore. It was making both of us mad. james learned "UGGG" from her, so a lot of times when I ask him to do stuff he'll pull that out. THey are all so tired.
Last week the Ahuna's babysat for us while we went to Red and a movie for our anniversary (which we did a day later b/c Paul changed YM to Tuesday and I completely wasn't thinking the 3rd, but just the first Wed of the month and scheduled Activity days which I was in charge of :/. We had s'mores and all brought a story from their history and McKenzie brought a family tree thing to fill out. It was hotter than Hades and a fire was the best idea in the world.
The dinner at Red was awesome!! (delicious zuppa creamy soup, my hambutger was the best I've ever had--pretzel bun, bacon, white sauce; mexican corn was amazing, meatloaf with mushrooms and tomato jam, asparagus, mashed potatoes, amazing chocolate doughnuts with salted caramel and chocolate sauce, bacon and dipped in a chocolate ganache--not kidding. Yum . Then we went and saw Bourne. Super fun. \
Babysat for Ahuna's tonight--rode bikes, stroller to sanford community celebration-bouncy houses, art from care center, zoo mobile, sloppy joe, darn fudgsickle that I shouldn't have eaten b/c had more rhubarb pie and ice cream (left over from yesterday) when got home.
Running really strong--doing Iron Strength for runners-- but Nikki seems to be struggling a little more. FEeling good, but now feeling fat d/t treats today.
Signed up for Hideaway. Emailed Tyler before and asked if remembered us and he sent me a code to get in free. In his response he said," Hey Buddy! of course, i remember you. You're kindness went a long way. " Anyway, Up late every night watching Olympics. So fun, but so tired.

Summer is almost over
Sunday July 31
Yesterday we went to the zoo and met up with the Clarks. The Ahuna's were there too, but we never met up with them. I ran 6 miles at Dorothy Pecaut on the way down (training for a trail run in Winter Park this Labor day--great run, but cut it short so P could make it to temple, but didn't anyway). Paul was going to go to the 12 session, but missed it, so just dropped us off and couldn't find parking anywhere, so he just left and went to the temple to wait for the 2 session. By the time he got back (had to do initiatory before endowment and couldn't get name back right away) it was about 5, so we met in the aquarium gift shop (kids ALWAYs want to just look and why can't they get something), and went to the jungle. P was pretty bummed about the whole day. Darnit. We did get to go to the new splash pad with Orcas and things and saw the 2 baby seal pups and James got to see the Lions in their new habitat. It was an alright day. Had pizza and PB sandwiches, etc I brought. Saved money that way. Kids finished their swim lessons last week. Maren has really taken off. Olivia is good already, but learning more. James is a good diver and underwater guy when he can touch (in the kid pool). If it's too deep he will barely let go of you. He must have gotten scared one time or something b/c last year he would run away from you and try and jump in. Need to be better about writing in journal and ran out of paper in my notebook. Mom gave me old computer to use, so going to try this out for a bit. Anne started eating solid food about 5 days ago (oatmeal). Seems to really like it. On to peas this week. Meal planning is going well since got home. Put up possible meals on top of calendar and just make one of them for dinner. Then I don't spend all night/morning/day thinking about it. Found Moopy (Ofelia's snoopy) and sending it to her via her friend who will visit her from California. She said she is anxiously awaiting it. She didn't want me to send her placa, but I'm going to to remind her that she once loved and wanted to serve our church.
I just did another really dumb thing (on top of P discovering that there were dents in the back of the car from me backing into another car with bike rack on when at Erin's pool (didn't think it did anything to either car). I scheduled activity days on the evening of our anniversary and we have been planning to go out that night. Paul even changed his YM activity to Tuesday so we could go :(. Now we have to go Thursday.
Holy Cow! I need to go to bed, but I have been meaning to write the sacrament program forever. We are listening to Harry Potter in the car, so I didn't really do anything on our way to Omaha and back and today we drove out to Sister Hill's and we listened again. Darn that Potter. Now it's really late and I didn't even realize it. Oh man. Running with Nikki again. Fun, but we're both slower than we used to be. Ran into Prentis the other morning while stretching out and she joined us for a couple of miles. Oh man.
Pres. Newswander talked about heroes today and asked us to study and hero. I chose Joseph Smith b/c my dad can teach me all about him. I asked him to recommend a book to me and said Ivan Barretts "Joseph Smith and The Restoration." Also, "Teaching of the Prophet Joseph Smith" by Joseph Fielding Smith. He then told me that "Rough Stone Rolling" is not used as a text for anything and has received a lot of criticism from the brethren for a few false teachings (priesthood restored after church restored). My dad's name is in the preface as a reader, which he did, but Bushman didn't incorporate or take any of his corrections or advice. One of the 70's and others have talked with my dad about this and he had to explain that Bro. Bushman didn't take his advice.
